Hi Everyone, This post is a reminder about Impersonation Scams, that could catch any of us out! Scammers may send a text pretending to be a family member to trick you into sending money or they may pretend to be someone from an official organisation such as the Police.
They may claim your bank accounts are at risk from fraudulent activity and that money should be transferred to a ‘safe’ account, they may suggest you give your bank card to a courier they will send to your home or that you withdraw money from your account and give it to a courier for safe keeping. The Police will never ask you for money or send a courier. If you are contacted unexpectedly by any organisation applying pressure to pay money it is highly likely to be a scam.
